Towards US$ 1 billion mark in ornamental stone exports in 2019, Brazilian industries and Vitoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America is attending this week’s Marmomac 2019, one of the main fairs of the segment held in Verona, Italy, organized by the Veronafiere Group, and which inspires the sealing of new business and warm-up for the main event in Brazil.
The promotion of the Brazilian fair and the participation of companies in International editions shows the warming of the sector, which, according to data from the Brazilian Association of Ornamental Stones (Abirochas), increased sales by more than 5% from January to August this year, increase that was not registered since 2013.
For Flávia Milaneze, director of Milanez & Milaneze – part of the Group Veronafiere, responsible for the organization of Vitoria Stone Fair – this strong presence at Marmomac is very important to stimulate new partnershipsand business with the International Market.
She also highlighted the participation of the delegation of the Government of Espirito Santo, in the presence of Governor Renato Casagrande, in the event.
“Visiting Marmomac not only helps generate new business between domestic suppliers and International buyers, but it i salso a two-way street to stimulate the participation of entrepreneurs from all over the world at Vitoria Stone Fair, strengthening each year our event”, pointed out Flávia.
Tales Machado, president of the Espirito Santo Ornamental Stones, Lime and Limestone Industry Union (Sindirochas), highlighted that Brazilian stones arouse the interest of the world Market for both diversity and production capacity.
“Of course our products could not be left out of Marmomac, Europe’s leading ornamental stone fair. This technology and design showcase is not just about business, as Italy is the world’s largest producer and exporter of machinery and equipment used in the ornamental stone sector, but also an important reference for the design of this products. The fair is extremely important for Brazil, it highlights the best news of the sector on an International scale, besides promoting the main characteristics of the Brazilian natural stone”, said Machado.
From January to August 2019, Brazilian exports of ornamental stones totaled US$ 694,7 million and 1,45 million tons, according to newsletter produced by Abirochas. Among the materials, the highest average prices were quartzite slabs (US$ 2,1 thousand/ton), considered the stars of recent years in exhibitions, and marble slabs (US$ 992,5 thousand/t).
Vitoria Stone Fair | Marmomac Latin America 2020 is already scheduled and will be held between February 11 and 14, 2020. The event is presented by Milanez & Milaneze, company of the Group Veronafiere, with the promotion of the Espirito Santo Ornamental Stones, Lime and Limestone Industry Union (Sindirochas) and Marble and Granite Technology Center (Cetemag) and support from Abirochas.
