During its four days, Vitoria Stone Fair moved the global ornamental stone market by opening the world trade fair calendar, anticipating major trends in natural stones, new technologies and design. About 300 companies from Brazil and 8 other countries presented their products to the market. Driving force in helping rock exports, the event conveyed its business ability to leverage the economy.
For the president of Sindirochas, Tales Machado, 2019 began with encouraging numbers in exports of ornamental stones. He states that Vitoria Stone Fair brings good expectations for the rest of the year. “The return to February, its month of origin, was important for keeping the fair as the first offer in the world market. A new concept of booth presentation, with a greater focus on the applicability of the rocks, brought the fair’s environment more beauty and warmth, aligned with the richness of detail and care in its design. This year, once again, there was the release of various materials, around 40, confirming the geological diversity of Brazil. The expectation for next year is high. ”
In January, Brazil sold more than US $ 70 million and the largest share of plates and finished products in the total exported positively pulled the monthly revenue of the country.
In this scenario, where Espírito Santo is consolidated by the quality of its materials, companies and buyers find in Vitória a fair for sales. The Monte Negro Granitos company had all expectations exceeded on the first day of the fair. The launch of Blue Nebula quartzite has won buyers from many places and set a sales record. “We separated this release for Vitoria Stone Fair. Now we are receiving orders, because all the material exhibited at the fair was commercialized ”, celebrates the commercial manager Carla Rodrigues.
The positive winds also passed through Pedra do Frade, from Rio Novo do Sul. CEO Saimom Fiori stated that the event brought a great possibility of new contacts and international buyers. With their own quarries, they invested in the launch of the Blue Tempest quartzite, in addition to the traditional ones of the house: White Eagle, Crystal Tempest and Mascarelo. “Our products caught the attention of the Chinese, we even closed deals at the fair,” said Saimom, whose materials are traded in South, Central and North America, Europe and Asia.
Who also celebrated was Marbrasa. The marketing coordinator, Carol Carvalho commented that this edition had one of the best moves in recent years, thus enabling new contacts and growth in sales. During the fair, the company presented design pieces, such as tables and decorative objects, made by Capixabas designers using their own deposit materials. Highlighting the black granite São Gabriel, which has several finishes. “We export our products to many places around the world such as China, the United States, Europe and Canada. The fair brings us a lot in this partnership and this year was no different, ”he said.
The fair was also strategic for Quartzblue. Lara Secchin, CFO, credited the company’s success at the fair to the materials presented. “We have separated six exclusive releases for Vitoria Stone Fair and I believe these news contributed a lot to our positive result,” he said. Quartzblue releases include Fayrus quartzite, Harpia Crystal translucent quartz crystal and Perla Venata quartzite.
Margramar’s export manager, Madson Hora, praised the event’s qualified public, which favored business generation. “I noticed that this year the companies invested in the differentiated presentation of the stones in their booths, which made the event even more beautiful and attracted an audience more willing to close deals. In this edition we had excellent commercial results, especially with customers from Europe, ”he said.
The businessman also pointed out that the Brazilian Stones Original Design exhibition, promoted by the Brazilian Association of the Ornamental Stones Industry (Abirochas) in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), attracted the main target audience. industries, which are the specifiers, which also contributed to raising the level of the fair in 2019.
Special projects moved the fair
Vitoria Stone Fair was also marked by the intensification of the approach with the material specifiers, evidenced by the various projects that were part of the event’s schedule.
The Archathon architecture and design marathon brought together more than 70 professionals from 8 Brazilian states, who, during the four days of the fair, developed projects using natural rocks.
Another action that moved the event was the second edition of the Brazilian Stones Original Design exhibition, promoted by Abirochas in partnership with Apex-Brasil, which took place in the same space of the Stone Collection project.
In the space of more than 250 square meters, the show has brought together tables, benches and fruit trees, created by 16 renowned designers in the country, to works by renowned artists. The transformation of raw materials such as granites, marbles and quartzites into exhibition pieces and works of art surprised and delighted visitors.
“Design and art are the best ways to add value to the rock industry and present all the lightness and versatility a stone can acquire,” said Vivian Coser, architect and curator of Brazilian Stones Original Design.
From the design show held at Vitoria Stone Fair these pieces will be exhibited in other countries or will be sold at reputable decoration stores.
