The dimensional stone industry in Espirito Santo ended the year of 2011 with $ 1.3 billion in exports, it’s a 3.7% increase compared to the previous periods. For the president of Centrorochas, Geraldo Machado, this result was satisfactory, given the difficulties in the European market, the gradual resumption of the United States - the main buyer, of Brazilian dimensional stones and the stocks at Chinese ports.

This year, he believes the numbers will remain in the same level as 2011, has seen market instability. The business thermometer in 2012 will take place during the 2012 Vitoria’s Stone Fair, the largest fair in the sector of the ornamental rocks in the Latin America and one of the firsts in the world calendar, which will be held on February 07™ through February 10, at Pavilhão de Carapina, Serra.

"The Vitória Stone Fair is the thermometer for the global stone market, and a showcase to present new products, and entrench even more the development and maturity of the industry," said the president of the Union of Industries of the Ornamental (Sindirochas) and The Technology Center of Marble and Granite (Cetemag), Emic Malacarne Coast.

About 400 exhibitors, of which 110 are  internationals, will present their new prducts, ranging from exotic granite from Brazilian companies, Portuguese and Egyptian marble, mosaics from Lebanon, supplies, heavy machinery and equipment for processing.

This year, Vitória Stone Fair will show, Brazil’s image to the world, focusing on the diversity of their dimensional stones and showing  how  favorable our environment is, for the implementation of a new business," stated, Cecilia Milaneze, of Milanez & Milaneze.

Promoted by Sindirochas, Cetemag and Milanez & Milaneze,  Vitória Stone Fair will occupy an area of ​​32 thousand square feet, with a forecast of more than 20.000 visitors from 65 different countries.

Not even the mishaps in the international economy have shaken the business done by companies of dimensional stones: in 2011, Brazil exported U.S. $ 999.6 million, an increase of 4.22% over the previous year. The value was the highest in the last four years, according to data released by the Brazilian Exporters of Dimensional Stones (Centrorochas).
